6061 Aircraft Aluminum for Sale

Compared with ordinary aluminum alloys, aircraft aluminum for sale has higher requirements for strength, hardness, toughness, fatigue resistance and plasticity. Due to its light weight, aerospace aluminum has replaced steel and occupies the current leading position in aerospace materials.

The aluminum alloys used in the structure of aviation aircraft in the world today are mainly high-strength 2 series (2024, 2017, 2A12, etc.) and ultra-high-strength 7 series (7075, 7475, 7050, 7A04, etc.), and some 5 series (5A06, 5052, 5086, etc.) and 6 series (6061, 6082, etc.) and a small amount of other series aluminum.

aircraft aluminum for sale .jpg

6061 aluminum plate is the earliest 6XXX series aluminum alloy used in aviation. It has good corrosion resistance and excellent welding performance, but the strength is moderately low. It is more corrosion resistant, easier to weld, and more suitable for machining.

6061 aluminum sheet is made of high-quality aluminum alloy products through a special pre-stretching process, so that the 6061 alloy has good processing performance, good corrosion resistance, high toughness, good anodizing effect, and is not easy to deform after processing.

The main alloying elements of 6016 aluminum alloy are magnesium and silicon. The addition of magnesium increases strength, while the addition of silicon reduces the melting temperature of the metal. Typically, 6061 aluminum is solution heat treated and then aged. 6061 t6 aluminum for sale is artificially aged for higher strength.

6061 aluminum plate and 2A12 are both heat-treatable aluminum alloys. After heat treatment, the two are indistinguishable in appearance. Due to the huge price difference between the two, some aluminum alloy suppliers choose to use 6061 aluminum sheet to replace 2A12. How to tell their differences?

The hardness of the 6061 aluminum plate after heat treatment is 90HB, while the 2A12 can reach around 120HB. Hardness can be measured if you have a hardness measuring device. If you don't have a hardness tester, then there is a simple solution.

The density of the two is quite different. The density of 6061 can only reach 2.7, while the density of 2A12 can reach around 2.78-2.79 due to the high content of copper alloy. The density of the product can be calculated according to the formula for calculating the weight of the aluminum plate. Weight formula: thickness (mm) * density (2.7/2.78) * length (m) * width (m) = weight.

Aluminum Sheet for Car Body

At present, 5, 6, and 7 series aluminum sheets are mostly used on the car body. Among them, the 5 series aluminum sheet is not suitable for the exterior parts of the car due to the deformation problem, so the outer panels of the doors, engine covers, and side panels generally choose 6 series aluminum sheet.

The involved alloy grades are 6016, 6022, 6111, 6181, 5754, 5052 and alloy 5182. Among them, the inner panels of the body basically use 5182 alloy and 6181A alloy, while the outer panels of the body mainly use 6016, 6111 and 6022 alloys. The size of the automotive aluminum sheet is mainly concentrated in the thickness of 0.7-3mm and the width of 900-2130mm.

6xxx aluminum.jpg

Compared with other grades, 5××× aluminum alloys have the advantages of low density, high specific strength, good formability and welding performance. When applied to automobile panels, the formability of 5000 series aluminum alloys is better than that of other series of aluminum alloys.

For car doors, car hoods, front and rear fenders and other parts, the mature products we have developed are 5182 aluminum sheet. Haomei Aluminum's 5182 aluminum sheet has a good stamping effect. The customer's feedback is that there is no crack phenomenon after the aluminum plate is stamped. Currently the thickness range that Haomei can produce is 0.15-600mm, and the width range is 20-2600mm (cut according to customer needs).

AA6016 alloy with low Cu content is commonly used in Europe, and AA6111 alloy with high Cu content is commonly used in North America. At present, these two alloys have the problem of poor formability and are not suitable for inner panel materials with high formability requirements.

The 6022 alloy contains lower alloy elements and has better formability and corrosion resistance than AA6016 and AA6111 alloys. It is considered that it can be used as both an outer panel material and an inner panel material.

6016 aluminum alloy has the advantages of good fracture toughness, corrosion resistance, fatigue resistance, etc., and can be used to manufacture doors, windows, and invisible parts in the body structure.

The heat treatment process is complicated, and pre-aging treatment T4P must be carried out between solution treatment and paint baking treatment to obtain good performance. Because it has good formability before stamping, and can quickly increase the strength during the baking process after stamping, so it has high dent resistance.

5052 Aluminum Marine Grade for Boats

Aluminum alloy yachts for freshwater lakes are mostly made of 5052 aluminum marine grade at H32 or O temper. The aluminum sheet thickness is 3-30mm, of which the thickness below 12mm is more widely used. The size is generally 2000*8000mm and 1500*6000mm.

In addition to being used in the boat hull, 5052 aluminum plates can also be used in cable bridges, ship sinks, ship compartment floors and other parts on ships. Due to the relatively low magnesium content of 2.2-2.8%, the alloy does not exhibit stress corrosion cracking (SCC) compared to other aluminum alloys with magnesium content greater than 3.5%. 5052 is a low density alloy that exhibits good thermal conductivity.

5052 aluminum marine grade.jpg

5052 aluminum tread plate is also used tor the ship deck. Since the magnesium content can reach more than 2.5%, it has good corrosion resistance and rust resistance, and can be well adapted to high-strength, high-corrosion-resistant occasions. It has a good application effect on ships, vehicles, and working platforms.

The production process of 5052 aluminum plate is very mature. From the point of view of the production process, the 5052 sheet is processed from semi-continuous ingot casting, homogenization, sawing, surface milling, aluminum cladding, heating, hot rolling, annealing, cold rolling, annealing, cold rolling, solution treatment, aging treatment, to shearing, leveling, inspection, oiling and packaging.

The classification society factory approval is the approval of the factory's production capacity, mainly the approval of the product production process and product performance. Only manufacturers with factory approval can produce and supply marine products certified by the classification society. Haomei 5052 aluminum plate has passed the certification of DNV and ABS.’

ABS surveyors followed up and observed the casting, hot rolling, cross-shearing and annealing processes of our 5052 aluminum sheet five times, and witnessed the sampling process and product testing process in accordance with the requirements of the "Product Type Test Program". The test results are collated and summarized, and the product test report is formed and submitted to ABS headquarters for review and approval. 5454 Aluminum Sheet for Tank Truck

Energy saving, emission reduction and structural lightweight have become a global trend. Compared with steel, aluminum alloy tank trucks have the characteristics of low density, good corrosion resistance, easy welding, long service life, easy recycling, reduced emissions, and no charge accumulation. In recent years, aluminum alloy tank cars in Europe, the United States, Australia, Japan and other countries have reached more than 90%. The chose aluminum alloys are generally Al 5454, 5083 and 5182.

At present, most aluminum tank truck manufacturers mainly use 5083 aluminum alloy plate as the material of the tank body, and the use of 5182 plate can better reflect its corrosion resistance and welding performance, and under the same loading quality, the wall thickness of the tank body can be thinner and the weight is higher. In addition, 5454 aluminum plates can be used in high temperature environments, or transport high temperature liquids.

5454 aluminum sheet.jpg

5454 aluminum alloy was used in tankers in the early 1950's and it has good corrosion resistance. 5454 aluminum properties are roughly the same as those of 5154, but its corrosion resistance is better than that of 5154 in severe environments. 5454 aluminum sheet has high strength, high corrosion resistance, good plasticity, and good formability. The strength of 5454 aluminum sheet is about 20% higher than that of 5052 aluminum sheet. 5454 aluminum sheet is also widely used in pressure vessels, marine facility pipelines and automobile wheels.

The magnesium content of 5454 aluminum plate is 2.4-3.0%, and it also contains a small amount of silicon, copper, zinc, manganese and other elements, and the tensile strength is greater than 215MPa. The magnesium content of 5052 aluminum plate is between 2.2-2.8%, and the tensile strength is 170-305MPa.

Compared with 5454 aluminum plate, it has a wider range of uses, especially in the construction industry. In addition, it is also commonly used in automotive fuel tanks, oil pipes, sheet metal parts of transportation vehicles, ships, mechanical instruments, hardware and electrical appliances, etc.

5454 aluminum sheet production process: The cold rolling processing rate is more than 70%. The annealing temperatures for O, H22, H24, H26, and H28 are 300°C, 260°C, 250°C, 230°C, and 200°C, respectively, and the holding time is 1 hour. The 5454 alloy H2n and O state produced by this process have stable properties and good formability, which meet the requirements of the EN485 standard.

What Is Manufacturing Process of Coated Aluminum Strip Roll

The roll coating process is an effective method of applying organic protective coatings on the aluminum strip roll. It is a continuous, highly automated process that produces a consistent product compared to post-coating methods.

 aluminum strip roll.jpg

Raw material input

The raw aluminum coil is sent to the production line, and is smoothed by the smoothing machine. This step ensures the smoothness of the product. The aluminum coil enters the stocker. There are two scrolls here, to ensure that one of them is always in a standby state.

Cleaning and pretreatment

The pretreatment of the aluminum coil is repeated by water spraying. This method is more effective than the traditional method. The water can also be reused, reducing energy consumption.

Pretreatment can improve the corrosion resistance of the product and improve the adhesion of the coating. At this stage, the conversion coating is chemically formed on the aluminum surface.

Coating

The coating process is mainly divided into two stages, namely base coating and top coating. In the first stage, the aluminum coil is passed through a roll coater and is primed on one or both sides. After drying, the aluminum coil passes through a second roller coater, at which time one or both sides of the aluminum coil are coated with topcoat.

A typical coating system requires the product to have formability, scratch resistance, attractive appearance, good weather resistance, paintability, etc. To achieve these different effect properties, coatings include: acrylic resin primers, polyester, polyurethane or fluorocarbon.

Curing

The color coated aluminum strip passes through the curing oven, and the temperature is set at a temperature adjusted to ensure that the volatiles on the aluminum strip are removed and the coating is cured. According to the needs of the coating system, the curing temperature is set between 200 and 300 degrees Celsius, which is the key technical point to ensure the quality of our products.

In addition, in order to protect the environment and control costs, the mist of the solvent is evaporated at high temperature to heat the curing oven.

Subsequent processing

Coated aluminum coils can be further processed into aluminum strip roll or embossed aluminum coil.

Protective film lamination

The protective film of the product is customized according to customer needs. These protective films have no impact on the environment and are easy to recycle. Welcome to leave message below to inquire aluminum strip price.

8006 and 3003 Aluminium Foil Container Raw Material

The raw materials of aluminum foil for food packaging are mainly 1xxx, 3xxx and 8xxx alloy, including 1060, 1100, 3003, 8011, 8021, etc. According to the requirements of the packaged food, the degree of softness and hardness of the alloy is selected. The common tempers are H14, H16 and H18.

The food container aluminum foil is 8011 or 3003 aluminium foil. 3003 aluminum foil has good punching performance. Due to the high content of Mn element in the alloy, the grains are easy to grow during homogenization annealing. When rolling to the thickness of the finished product (0.03-0.08mm), coarse grain stripes will inevitably appear on the surface, which will affect the normal use of customers.

3003 aluminium foil.jpg

On the other hand, due to the characteristics of the 3003 alloy itself, the strength of the material is high, and the loss of rolling equipment and punching equipment is relatively large. At the same time, a large amount of copper and manganese metals need to be added, which increases the production cost of the aluminum foil manufacturers.

8011 aluminum foil can overcome some shortcomings of 3003 alloy, but because the content of alloy elements in 8011 alloy is low, it is soft and not suitable for high-speed punching, and the punching depth is insufficient. Its application range is limited.

Compared with 8011 aluminum foil, the tensile strength of 8006 aluminum foil is higher, which can reach 125-135. At the same time, the cupping value and elongation of 8006 aluminum foil are much higher than that of 8011 aluminum foil. More importantly, 8006 aluminum foil is produced by hot rolling process. After stamping, the edge has no wrinkles and has a beautiful appearance. It is widely used in aircraft food container in Europe.

8006 alloy contains Mn element, which is especially beneficial to the corrosion resistance of aluminum foil. 8006 alloy has better mechanical properties than 8011, 8079, and 1235 alloys. The research results show that 8006 alloy has good surface quality and extremely low number of pinholes.

8006 aluminum foil is an aluminum alloy that contains elements such as silicon, iron, manganese and copper. It has a range of advantages that make it one of the most versatile alloys. Due to its high strength, 8006 aluminum is widely used in structural applications such as automotive parts, marine components and bridges. Its strong yet lightweight properties also make 8006 aluminum ideal for engine blocks and aircraft construction.

In addition, its excellent thermal conductivity means that it is also widely used in food container, bottle cap foil, air duct foil, packaging foil, pharmaceutical foil, household foil, air conditioner foil, cable foil, cigarette foil, heat sealing foil, etc.
