7050 Aluminum is an Al-Zn-Mg-Cu high-strength alloy, which can be strengthened by heat treatment. 7050 aluminum plate is mainly used for main bearing structural parts with high strength, good fracture toughness, and high resistance to stress corrosion cracking and spalling corrosion, such as thick plates, extrusions, free forgings and die forgings for aircraft structure.

Due to the good hardenability of the alloy, it is especially suitable for manufacturing large thick section parts. The common tempers are T74, T76, and T73. For structural parts that require high strength and resistance to stress corrosion cracking, the T74 temper should be selected.

For the structural parts that require high strength and resistance to spalling corrosion, the T76 temper is generally used; The T73 temper is mainly used for rivet materials that require high strength and good corrosion resistance.

7150 aluminum sheet has high strength and good corrosion resistance. It is an improved alloy of 7050 aluminum. 7150-T65’s strength is 10%-15% higher than that of 7075 and the fracture toughness is 10% higher. The fatigue resistance is good, and the SCC resistance of the two is similar.

It is mainly used in the in the upper wing structure of the large passenger aircraft, the flange of the body plate beam, the main wing longitudinal beam of the upper outer panel, the fuselage reinforcement, the keel beam, and the seat rail.
