The Use of 7075 aluminium alloy for Car Body

 7000 aluminum alloy is used for automobile safety structural parts. The strength of this alloy is 2-3 times that of other aluminum alloys on the market, which is widely used for anti-collision beams, collision rings and door beams. This new alloy is lighter than steel of the same strength, allowing the car to balance weight and safety.

The main alloy element of the 7000 aluminum is zinc. A small amount of magnesium allows this alloy to be heat treated to increase its strength. In addition, copper and chromium are added in small amounts. The most widely used 7000 aluminum in automotive industry is 7075 aluminum alloy.

In order to reduce wheel noise, 7075 aluminum plates are used to make wheel hub. It can greatly reduce the wheel noise and improve the steering stability of the car. In order to make the wheels more beautiful, methods such as chrome plating, polishing, paint spraying, powder spraying, stainless steel or plastic hub caps, and improved wheel design patterns are generally used.

In terms of aluminum sheet price, you can also choose 6061 aluminum sheet as the material of the wheel, because the 7075 aluminum sheet price is 1-2 times higher than the 6061 aluminum sheet price. Considering the hardness, the hardness of 7075 aluminum sheet is higher and stronger.

7075 aluminum plate can be divided into three common tempers: 7075-T6 aluminum plate, 7075-T651 aluminum plate and 7075-T652 aluminum plate. Their cutting performance and processing deformation are quite different.

The processing deformation of 7075 aluminum sheet is caused by the uneven distribution of the internal stress of the aluminum sheet itself. The internal stress distribution of 7075-T6 aluminum plate is relatively uneven. It is a quenched aluminum plate that has not been pre-stretched and has the largest processing deformation.

The 7075-T651 aluminum plate is a pre-stretched aluminum plate with a relatively uniform internal stress distribution. However, due to the difference in the production equipment and production process control of the aluminum sheet manufacturers, the processing deformation is also different, but in general it is better than 7075-T6 aluminum.

7075-T652 aluminum plate is a forged ultra-thick aluminum plate with better overall performance and smaller processing deformation. The deformation of metal materials is a normal phenomenon, especially aluminum alloy. If the deformation is too large, there may be problems with the machining process.
